What is an Oring?

An O-ring is a type of gasket with a circular cross-section, usually made of elastic materials such as rubber. O-rings are a simple but effective type of gasket used to seal pipes, hoses, valves and other industrial applications.

O-rings are used to prevent pressure or vacuum from forming between two surfaces. When these are compressed, they form a tight seal between the surfaces and prevent liquids or gases from leaking out. O-rings are also made from a variety of materials that are resistant to temperature changes, chemicals and other harsh environments.

The use of O-rings is very common and besides industrial applications, they are also used in the home, cars and many other places.
